  • The Small Boat Shed houses CBMM's fleet of historic small craft in a rustic setting

    Sliding barn doors provide an outside feel with views of Fogg's Cove

    Restrooms are located next door in At Play On The Bay

    Reception Venue Cost: $11,500 including installation and breakdown days. Event from 4 pm to 10 pm

    Rehearsal Dinner Cost: $4,250 with booking, $6,250 without booking. Event from 6 pm to 10 pm

    Ceremony Locations: Tolchester Beach Bandstand, Waterfront Navy Point, or Hooper Strait Lighthouse

    Accommodates 140 guests, with access to the waterfront decks surrounding the Steamboat Building and Oystering on the Chesapeake

    Restrooms are located inside the adjacent Steamboat exhibition building.

    Ceremony Location: Fogg’s Landing Boardwalk

  • Accommodates up to 70 people for a seated dinner / 150 for a cocktail party

    Indoor space with heat and air conditioning

    Includes use of restrooms, commercial prep kitchen, and audio-visual equipment

    Venue Cost: $3,750 from 4 pm to 10 pm

    Rehearsal Dinner Cost: $2,250 with booking, $3,250 without booking

 

Additional Information

Contract

Required at the Time of Booking:

  • 50% of facility rental cost is due at the time of securing the venue and date

  • Refundable $1,000 security deposit

  • The contract must be signed and returned within 14 days of the booking date

  • The contract requires the contracting party to provide CBMM with a certificate of liability showing the individual has in force bodily injury, host liquor, and property damage liability protection in the amount of no less than $1 million. CBMM must be named additionally insured, and the certificate holder and such certificate shall confirm coverage for the event date. This certificate of insurance is due to CBMM no later than 90 days before the event.

Non-Exclusive Caterer or Tent Company

Using Non-preferred Catering & Tent Rental Vendors (Note: No additional charges are incurred when using a CBMM exclusive vendors for catering and other rentals)

  • The contracting party incurs an additional fee of $2,500 for using an outside (non-exclusive) vendor.

  • References shall be provided to CBMM for approval no less than 90 days before the event.

  • Upon approval by CBMM plus no less than 90 days before the event, a $1,500 refundable security deposit must be provided by the vendor

  • The vendor must provide the following documentation no less than 60 days before the event date: Certificate of Insurance naming CBMM as Certificate Holder and additionally insured, Business License, and Sales Tax Certificate.

Other Vendors

For other vendors, you may contract with anyone you like. The vendors expected to provide services on CBMM grounds must be disclosed to CBMM no later than 90 days before the event date. All vendors (including photographers, musicians, DJs, wedding planners, florists, etc.) must provide a Certificate of Insurance naming CBMM as Certificate Holder and additionally insured no less than 30 days before the event.

Cancellation

The total amount, less a $500 processing fee, shall be returned to the contracting party if CBMM is notified of the cancellation at least 6 months (180 days) before the event date.

Other Things to Keep in Mind

  • CBMM is a museum, and our primary responsibility is to our visitors

  • All efforts should be made to mitigate the impact on the visitor and the grounds. It is forbidden to drive nails or screws into CBMM buildings or structures.
